Chef Engin Onural was born in New York, raised in Turkey, and has called the Coachella Valley home since 2006.
He opened his first restaurant, The Venue Sushi & Sake Bar in Palm Desert in 2011 and Sandfish Sushi and Whiskey in Palm Springs in 2018. He is excited to join the Phoenix culinary scene with the opening of a second location of Sandfish Sushi and Whiskey.
Chef Engin Onural is among a small group of sushi ambassadors designated by the Japanese government, and that 2017 he placed 27th in the World Sushi Olympics. He also received the designation of Best Chef America in 2016.
